British humor for crisis times

Another gem of the British humor. So accurate, funny, and current (it was broadcast on 2007!), this video had to be revived by the Internet to help explain the current financial crisis.

It features John Fortune and John Bird at an episode of the British TV South Bank Show.
Thanks to my friend Fabián for e-mailing the […]

Gloablization , Customer Experience and Enteprise 2.0

Today while enterprises are increasingly going global in IT outsourcing, supply chain and customer services operation, there is a growing need to improve global productivity, collaboration and business processes. The Yankee Group calls it “Enterprise Anywhere” - the trend where global companies leverage their global resources to optimize their global operation.
So, where do Open Source […]

In the Bay already

Sorry I didn’t have time to write until now. This past week has been way too much fun between San Diego and LA, and it barely left time to keep in touch with the people at home. So far, the trip is going better than great.
As it is a known fact: the weather in California […]

Are Google troubles that big?

Business 2.0 Magazine did a report on all the troubles Google is facing. Fake Steve Jobs had a funny take on the subject too.
For Chis Taylor, the article author, this is “the beginning of the backlash”. I like to call it “the beginning of the mojo lost“. In particular, all recent troubles don’t feel like […]

Poll results out: Windows Vista adoption much slower than XP

Voting frequency on the poll we were running, asking readers to input their predictions for Windows Vista adoption percentage for January 2009, was starting to wade, so I decided to close it.
The results are pretty close to what I expected: over 75% of the voters think Windows Vista is not going to surpass the 50% […]

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs together on stage

If you missed it last week, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs appeared together for a live interview at the DC5 conference.
Here are the videos of the historic geek moment.

They were extremely polite with each other. Steve Jobs making the best punch lines, while Bill Gates played it cool, coming out pretty smart.
If you are not […]

Pandora: a nice company fatally wounded by nonsense politics

Pandora has been getting a lot of press this past weeks over its new services. They have signed deals with USA mobile providers Sprint and Sonos, and have revamped their Web Site.
All that development is quite impressive, but to me it still feels like the company is doomed. And it all has to do -obviously- […]

Skype is the best VoIP IM, but not Open Source, and not Linux friendly

Skype is the best free application for chatting, talking (I mean Voice over IP, aka VoIP) and Video Chats.
You can even call regular phones at any country in the world, with rates that are unbeatable.
Many plugins have been developed that extend Skype’s functionality. For instance, I use Unyte for remote Desktop handling.
What Skype is missing
Skype […]

The best sites to find high quality tech jobs

While taking a look around his blog, I found Michael Gray posted about the big “Job Finding” websites.
He reminded me I was just thinking about this yesterday, wanting to do a static page listing the best IT/Developer/Designer job boards.
What do these boards have that Monster, Craiglist, Careerbuilder, Dice, and the other big guys don’t? Well, […]
