Please Google, make Presently available!

I have not used Microsoft Office for six months now. I obviously am not a heavy Office Apps user. I use Linux at my office, and haven’t had the need for it; not even once.

But there is one thing I noticed: the fact that Power Point presentations do not work too well with OpenOffice (quite badly, actually). That doesn’t bother me much, since 99% of ppt’s I receive are garbage. But I am aware that we are minority, and that most people place more value on those things than I do.

The idea that Google should produce a Presentation Web App crossed many people mind’s, and since
rumors of presently were announced, many of us geeks are eager to give it a try! I believe it is the one piece missing to make many companies leave MS Office behind.

Of course I understand they should be spending many of their scarce resources on this. So, after the first beta is available, it would be nice if they fixed whatever is making Google Spreadsheet painfully slow on Firefox for Linux.

[…] So, when Google releases Presently, and Skype or some relevant contestant put a cool video and phone calls IM, pretty much everybody can move on to linux. […]
